Title pane

Favicons
When a group is selected, the icon in the title row shows the feed that the article came from. When a feed is selected, the icon in the title row shows the source for the article or is blank if the feed provides no source. The source comes from the tag in either Atom or RSS feeds.

In the case of storage feeds the icon of the feed where the article originated is shown when the feed selected and a Storage icon when a group.

Highlighting
Bold: The article is unread.
Green: The article contains a keyword.
Brown: Used for articles in the top 2% of interest level for a displayed feed/group.
Strike-thru: The article is deleted. The title will not appear when you return to that feed after leaving it or you refresh the feed. Using strike-thru highlighting instead of immediate wiping is implemented in order to avoid slowing down.

Sorting articles - Columns
The articles are sorted according to the preference set in Feed Options menu, Sorting tab. This may mean using the global options or defining rules specifically for the feed.

If you click on a column heading, the the articles will be listed according to that value. Clicking on the column heading again reverses the order. However, this choice is only valid until you leave the feed. When you come back to it, the articles will be listed according to the rules defined in Feed Options menu, Sorting tab.

Columns to display can be selected with the columnpicker on the right-hand side of the column headings. Columns can be repositioned and resized by adjusting the column heading using drag and drop. A Reset Column Ordering command is available on the columnpicker.

All columns except the Filtered Web (+) column can be sorted in ascending or descending order.

Flag
Articles can be flagged to mark them for special attention. You can search for flagged articles in search groups. Click on the icon to flag/unflag.
Title
Descriptive summary of the article. Double-click to open the article in a new tab. The text 'Re: ' at the beginning of a title is ignored when articles are sorted by title.
Read (R)
Read/unread status. Click on the icon to toggle.
Filtered Web (+)
This column controls downloading extended articles (filtered web). The mechanism for filtering the article web page is specified in the feed options. The icon for this column has five states:
1) read icon (small grey dot): use the usual description from the feed as before,
2) blue down arrow: the filtered web page is being downloaded,
3) unread icon (larger green dot): the filtered web page will be displayed,
4) unread icon with yellow background: images from the filtered web page are being downloaded (the filtered web page will still appear when selected), and
5) red X: there has been an error, make sure javascript.options.showInConsole is equal to true, rerun if necessary and then look at the error console to see errors.
Clicking in state 1 moves to state 2. Clicking in states 2, 3, 4, or 5 moves to state 1, allowing you to refilter with a different filter if you wish. There is more information [here]. This column is hidden by default.
Interest (Pr)
A number between 0 and 1 indicating the user's probable (pr) interest in the article. This is a Bayesian filter similar to an e-mail spam filter, but here we are most likely interested in highly rated articles rather than lowly rated spam. This is useful for sorting in feeds with large numbers of articles.
Date
The date listed in the feed. Future, invalid, and no dates are handled according to the preferences in the main options.
Source
The source that the feed cited for the article. This is not the feed that the article came from. This column is hidden by default.
Author
Author of the article. This column is hidden by default.
Feed
Feed the article came from. This column is hidden by default.
