Language: English v. RussianI have re-installed SeaMonkey 1.1.9 and installed Newsfox 1.0.1 on top of it. In the past, I always got English displays; now I get them in Russian. How can I cause English to appear again? I am referring to the Newsfox menus, not to the articles displayed as news feeds. |
Re: Language: English v. Russian
I don't know that much about this, it's magic that just happens as far as I'm concerned. I think that the browser (I assume all Gecko ones work the same on this) gets the locale to use from general.useragent.locale in about:config. This should be en-US for displaying English. Another preference that is important is intl.accept_languages: en-US should be first here as well. I'm just going by the preferences that quick locale switcher changes. You could download it and use it to change to English, if changing the preferences doesn't work.
If you browse to google.com are the buttons and text in Russian? NewsFox and google should be getting the same information on what language to display from the browser.
This is basically my knowledge. If you need more, you might try a SeaMonkey support group.
