NewsFox to SM 2.0

If I can have NewsFox on SM 2.0, can I migrate my existing NewsFox, and its subscriptions (all on SM 1.1.11, to which I still have access)? Can I use the 'export' process on SM 1.1.11? Into which folder or file in SM 2.0 could I put my previous version of NewsFox, if this can be done? Thanks in advance.

Newsfox in SeaMonkey 2

I've just installed the new SeaMonkey 2 and added Newsfox.  I use Newsfox only for RSS feeds on sites requiring authentication (eg LiveJournals where some entries are hidden unless you're logged in).  When I installed it, although I am logged in to LJ, Newsfox only picked up the non-logged in RSS feed.  I was able to fix this by going through my feeds, and force-reloading each of them.  However, when I'm in Newsfox and select one of the "protected" entries, I just get the "please login" screen on LiveJournal.  Note: I have NewsFox set to show web pages rather than just text.
This used to work fine on SeaMonkey 1.1.x.  Any ideas?
Thanks,
Raj.

Auto-refreshing feeds

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to Newsfox and have installed it on SeaMonkey 1.1.18.  My question is if you have to have the NewsFox chrome window open (in a tab) for it to be able to auto-refresh the feeds to find new items, or if you can leave it closed and just use the statusbar icon to check if there are new items?
Thanks,
Raj.

Retrieving rss updates from a restricted board

Hi!
I am running a phpBB3 board software with a rss mod. It is restricted to registered users.
Checking the rss feed for updates works once with Newsfox. After checking I am logged off the board. So when checking a second time for updates the board can't see me as a registered user. I don't know why I get logged off. I suspect NewsFox to mess around with cookies. I don't have this problem with the builtin RSS reader from Firefox or other RSS extensions like Wizz RSS.

Regards!

html displayed with javascript web filter

example page: http://www.gulli.com/news/stefan-niggemeier-schon-wieder-2009-07-02/
I use the following javascript web filter:
var news = linkDOM.getElementById("newsSingleItem");
news.innerHTML;
Some html code is then displayed in the text. I looked into the pages source code and I think it is some code that is wrapped in <noscript> tags.

Suddenly there is an error message

I just tested newsfox for about 3 weeks. Everything seemed fine. But today, i wanted to start reading news, when suddenly an Error appeares:

XML-Verarbeitungsfehler: Kein Element gefunden
Adresse: chrome://newsfox/content/newsfox.xul
Zeile Nr. 355, Spalte 10:
----------------^

and translated it should be
XML-processing error: no element found
adress: chrome://newsfox/content/newsfox.xul
line no. 355, col. 10:
----------------^

Does anybody now the reason? And... an answer to the problem?

Thanks a lot...

Updated feed not getting recognized

I'm puzzled by the behavior of Newsfox (1.0.5rc1) when I update and install a new copy of the "feed.xml" file. For example, in this updated xml file, I have added one or more items, which I expect to see in newsfox when I refresh the feed.

Unfortunately, I do not, and I cannot determine what triggers the feed to update. I've tried various things like removing the feed completely, and then re-adding it. Yesterday, I updated/re-installed my feed.xml file, and then suddenly about 12 hours later, my change to the feed began appearing. Welcomed, but unexpected, and it sorta seems non-deterministic, not to mention a big waste of time.

NewsFox Portability

I keep my .mozilla directory on a flash drive - this allows me to keep my firefox settings at any computer and across any system (Linux/Windows).
I do the same for ThunderBird.

In order to keep newsfox available across all systems - I would need to create a *relative* path to the feeds.
i.e. I cannot point newfox to file:///media/disk/Documents/04-NewsFox/ on a windows machine, it would want to
see something like e:/Documents/04-NewsFox/

It seems simple enough, but my relative paths do not seem to work.

Is it infact possible to do this?

NewsFox Procedure

I have successfully downloaded NewsFox to use with SeaMonkey and find that I need some additional direction. When I am on a site with a characteristic orange symbol, and click on it, a window appears and asks me what program I want to use. A typical selection is offered.
However, I imagined that in order to use this symbol at all, I would have had to first copy and paste the URL of the page into NewsFox. The NewsFox overview is not clear on this, and I am wondering if anyone in this forum can let me about the process involved in order to use the orange symbol on a particular page. Thanks in advance.
